Bad things happen in the dark. Recall how much it hurts to stub your toe or shin on furniture when you misjudge where you are in the dark—even in your own home. Think about other things that people misjudge in the darkness. Accidents happen when people can’t see a curve or an obstacle on an unlit road at night. Jesus’ offer of forgiveness, life, and restoration to God is, hands down, the best news ever! And there are so very many other positive reasons for believing in Jesus Christ. He stands ready to answer prayer. He gives us power over bad habits and destructive behavior. Belief in Him makes us adopted children of God. Other great reasons for trusting Christ will certainly follow here in the days and months ahead.
Meanwhile, there are some very sobering reasons for accepting Jesus and His sacrifice for our sins.
