You may be wondering, “Who’s blog is this?” or “What qualifications does this guy have for writing on these topics?” Those are great questions, and they deserve answers.
My name is Gary Hutchinson. I’ve been teaching Bible for the past sixteen years at a private Christian secondary school. During that time, I have, also, enjoyed speaking at conferences on teaching, on worldviews, and on Christian apologetics. So I’ve heard a LOT of questions about Jesus Christ, the Bible, Christianity, other faiths, first principles of philosophy, etc.
I am a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and of Louisiana State University, but my training in Biblical Studies, apologetics, and worldviews has not stopped. Whether through personal study, seminars, or further graduate level classes, I’ve always pressed on to be able to better communicate what the Bible says and why I believe the content of the Bible to be authoritative.
My experience is not limited to the classroom. I’ve had church staff experience, as well as experience in cross-cultural ministry in Central America and in Europe. I’ve also had “real world experience” working a few years in commerce.
I’m happy to add that I’m a husband, a dad, and a grandfather. I’ve been “around the sun” a few times. God is still working on me. I don’t know it all, but He has shown me a bit.
Jesus said, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be required.” (Luke 12:48) I have been given much, and it’s my privilege and pleasure to share.
Welcome to the conversation!
